In technical terms, this sets how long the emulation thread will go to sleep for. The less the value the more responsive {and quicker) the mouse will move. I recommend to keep this value at a fairly low setting. On my 700Mhz machine the CPU load rarely goes above 10%.

The preferences option can be found in the 'utilities' menu.

General Options

Auto delete ROMs linked to deleted emulators

When you delete an emulator if this option is selected, EVERY ROM that is linked to this emulator is automatically deleted. If this option is off then you are asked if you wish to delete any entries.

Minimise when running ROM

Enabling this option will mean that when you run a ROM QuickPlay will minimise. If this option is disabled then QuickPlay wont minimise. Use Old Minimise Style Some people have reported that the 'best' attempt at minimising code is the code from QuickPlay 3.4.3, so I have included an option to use this version of the code instead of my new *improved* version of it! I hope this doesn't turn into a radio group of which version you want to use... :-)

Use 'Run ROM' dialog

By enabling this option QuickPlay will always use the Run ROM dialog when launching a game from the ROM list, which is useful if you want to debug problems with an emulator.

Clear ROM filter on directory change

If enabled when you move between directories in Quickplay the filter will be reset to nothing, and all ROMs will be visible. If not enabled then the filter will remain and you will only see ROMs which match the current filter.

Remember Last Selected ROM

When enabled QuickPlay will save the last selected ROM when you close the program. This ROM will be displayed next time you load QuickPlay. Use QP Temp Dir for Zip Extraction If enabled the QuickPlay temp directory will be used for zip extraction. If disabled, then the directory containing the zip file will be used for extraction.

Media Search Group

Include ROM directory in search

If this is enabled then the media searching routine will also search the directory of the ROM. This may find some files (save states etc), that it shouldn't so I recommend disabling this option and creating a specific ROM media directory.

Search Type

Type 1 - the filenames must match so:

ROM name - mario.zip

Media name - mario.jpg

Type 2 - The media filename must start with the ROM filename so:

ROM name - mario.zip

Media name - mario_12.jpg

Type 3 - the media filename must include the ROM filename, so:

ROM name - mario.zip

Media name - super_mario_world.jpg

For MAME clones use Parent ROM for scan

If enabled media searchs for MAME roms will use the parent ROM (only applicable if you scanned ROMs using the 'scan merged roms')
